Next Phase

For anyone who doesn’t know me here is a quick medicine-related update. I started Med School ~ three years ago with pre-clinical years up in Prince George BC.

My first clinical year was via the Integrated Community Clerkship(ICC) in Chilliwack BC. It was a fantastic experience, and from what I can gather from other’s experiences, significantly better suited to my personality than if I were in Vancouver or one of the other core programs.

Today was the final week, with just an OSCE standing between me and the completion of third year clerkship.

Because I don’t use Facebook, Instagram or other FB/Google products I wanted to have a means of friends and family who were interested to have somewhere they could get a quick update on where I was and what was going on.

This website is that ‘somewhere’.

The next phase is actually beginning soon with Lisa and I flying out to Namibia the day after the OSCE. We will spend a couple weeks checking out Namibia then I will head next door to Johannesburg for my first elective of fourth year.

I managed to reach out a few months back and get a placement at Chris Hani Baragwanath hospital in Soweto South Africa in their Emergency Department.

Looking forward to sharing any interesting experiences with you, of course with random medicine related thoughts along the way.

Until then, ukuthula
